Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between an 'Original work' and an 'Art print'? An 'Original work' is a unique painting created by me, while an 'Art print' is a reproduction of the original artwork, printed on canvas, paper, or wood.
How long does it take to receive my order? Orders are usually processed and shipped within 3–5 business days. Delivery times depend on your location:
- Netherlands: 3–5 business days
- Europe (EU): 5–8 business days
- Other countries: up to 15–20 business days, depending on the destination
How can I track my order? After shipping, you will receive a tracking number by email. You can use this number to track your order via the carrier (e.g. PostNL, UPS, DHL).
Can I cancel or change my order after placing it? Original works may be returned within 14 days of receipt at the buyer's cost and risk, in the original packaging, provided they are undamaged and in their original condition. If the returned work is damaged or has decreased in value due to the buyer's actions, I am entitled under Article 6:230o of the Dutch Civil Code to deduct an amount for diminished value from the refund. Fine art prints on canvas, paper, or wood are produced exclusively to order and are therefore excluded from the right of withdrawal under Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). Paintings made to the buyer's commission are unique, handmade artworks and are likewise excluded from the right of withdrawal under Article 6:230p(c) of the Dutch Civil Code.
Are the colours of the product on the website the same as in real life? Although I try to represent the colours as accurately as possible, slight colour differences may occur between what you see on screen and what you receive at home, due to monitor settings or lighting conditions.
What should I do if my order arrives damaged? If your order arrives damaged due to the carrier, please contact me within 7 days at info@evelinemenkeart.com and send clear photos of the damage and the packaging. I will do my best to send a replacement or offer another suitable solution. Please note: this applies exclusively to damage caused during transport, not to damage that occurred after receipt.
Do you offer international shipping? I ship to almost all countries in the world. Shipping costs vary depending on your location and can be viewed at checkout. Any import duties are the responsibility of the buyer.
Can I get a refund if I am not satisfied with my product? For original works, a right of withdrawal of 14 days after receipt applies. The item must be returned unused, undamaged, and in its original packaging. If the work is returned damaged or with diminished value due to the buyer's actions, I am entitled under Article 6:230o of the Dutch Civil Code to deduct an amount for diminished value. Return shipping costs are at the buyer's expense, unless the product is demonstrably defective or damaged upon arrival. After receipt and inspection of the return, the refund will be processed within 14 days via the same payment method. Fine art prints are produced to order and are excluded from the right of withdrawal (Art. 16(c) EU Directive 2011/83/EU). Commissioned paintings are likewise excluded (Art. 6:230p(c) Dutch Civil Code). For demonstrable defects or transport damage, you can always contact me at info@evelinemenkeart.com.
What materials are used for the products you sell? I work with high-quality water-mixable oil paint and acrylic paint on premium linen or cotton canvas. The canvases are stretched on a wooden frame with FSC certification. Art prints are printed on museum-quality paper.
How can I use a discount code? During the checkout process, you can enter your discount code in the "Discount code" field to apply the discount.
How can I contact you if I have a problem with my order? You can reach me by email at info@evelinemenkeart.com or via the contact form under the 'Contact' section on the website. In most cases, I will respond within 24 hours of receiving your message.
Do you also offer 'Commission work'? Yes, I also create paintings on commission. Feel free to contact me and I can tell you more about custom-made artworks.
What sizes of artworks are available? I offer a wide range of sizes, from approximately 18×24 cm to larger formats such as 100×120 cm. Specific sizes can be made on request.
Can I have the artwork framed or customised in other ways? Yes, I certainly offer framing options for my original works and can customise artworks to your wishes for an additional fee. Please contact me for more information.
